The MAJ Land Sniper Cup once again delivered an unparalleled showcase of skill, precision, and camaraderie, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier sniper competitions in the country. This year’s event brought together over 50 teams from across the nation, representing an impressive cross-section of military, law enforcement, and civilian marksmen. Participants ranged from active-duty 0317 Marine Scout Snipers to retired 8541s, as well as elite members of special operations units and top-tier civilian shooters.

The USMC Scout Sniper Association (SSA) proudly sent three teams to compete, comprised of both active-duty Marines and retired Scout Snipers still honing their craft in the civilian world. The level of talent on display was nothing short of extraordinary, and SSA was thrilled to see one of its teams finish in the top 10, a remarkable achievement given the depth of competition.

Showcasing the Craft of Sniping

The competition wasn’t just about scores and rankings; it was a celebration of the art and science of sniping. The SSA partnered with the Army Sniper Association to host the Gathering of Snipers Symposium, a standout feature of the event. This symposium provided attendees with a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge advancements in sniping technology, innovative tactics, and evolving strategies.

The keynote address was delivered by Tim Kellner, the legendary U.S. Army Sniper, whose insights and experiences captivated the audience. The symposium wasn’t just about professional development—it was a chance for snipers from all walks of life to connect, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that define this elite community.

Army vs. Navy Grudge Match: A Battle of Elites

One of the event’s most anticipated highlights was the Army vs. Navy Grudge Match, a spirited competition that pitted the best marksmen from each branch against one another. This year, the Army team took home the trophy, earning a well-deserved victory through outstanding performance. While the loss stung, it’s only fueling the SSA’s determination to reclaim the title in 2025. Rest assured, The new Scout Sniper Association Shooting team is already gearing up to bring the trophy back where it belongs—with the Marine Corps Scout Snipers!

Advancing the SSA Mission

Events like the MAJ Land Sniper Cup highlight the importance of the SSA’s mission: to support Scout Snipers past, present, and future while preserving and advancing the craft of sniping. Through participation in high-caliber competitions, hosting educational symposiums, and fostering a sense of community, the SSA continues to honor the legacy of the Scout Sniper profession.

This year’s MAJ Land Sniper Cup was not only a testament to the skill and dedication of its participants but also a celebration of the enduring spirit of the sniper community. We’re already looking forward to next year, when the SSA will once again rise to the challenge, both on the range and off.

Stay sharp, and STA Deadly!
