“Trail of Tears” at the 20th Annual Pacific Crest Sports Festival
Where: Sunriver, Oregon
When: June 25th, 2016
On June 25, 2016 members of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Scout Sniper Association (SSA) will participate in the 20th Annual Pacific Crest Sports Festival in Sunriver, Oregon. SSA members will be competing in the Half-Marathon event while carrying rucksacks weighing up to 50 pounds. The weighted rucksacks symbolize the camaraderie and brotherhood of the scout sniper community that is built through shared hardships, selfless sacrifice, and intense physical events.
The USMC Scout Sniper Association’s goal for entering this event is to create awareness for the Scout Sniper Association and its various philanthropic and life- saving outreach initiatives and to raise money for those efforts. Donations and sponsorships for the SSA team will be used for Scout Sniper Association Academic Scholarships, member/veteran crisis outreach, and assisting the families of our fallen Heroes.
The team goal is to raise $25,000 in private and corporate sponsorships, individual runners are working towards raising $3,000 each, pledges can be on this page. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and watch our runners train for the event. We appreciate all of your support.
